We are now an approved POSTSAVER affliliate. Because of the EU ban on CCA preservatives (Arsnic & Chromium) timber posts are failing at the ground within a few short years. We are been called back to jobs less than 3 years after installation only to find the posts have completely rotted through and snapped off at ground level. This new menace to our industry can be easily and cheaply combatted by the installation of a post saver sleeve. The rubber seal can be fixed to your posts at our unit in Broadwater, Stevenage, before installation. Bring your posts along or insist your contractor does and increase the life of your post for just a couple of pounds. The 10 - 15 year promise on a post is now a false hope and a complete change of post installation techniques should be adopted. Splashing a bit of preserver around the base will not solve the problem. The post saver is one weapon in the war against rot but there are other tricks of the trade to extend the life of posts. Ask your contractor to explain to you how he intends to keep the post from rotting out in three years.
